The role will begin on day work, with a move into a 3 or 4 cycle shift pattern over time, including shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours. There is also genuine opportunity for progression into leadership or management for the right person.

Key responsibilities

  • Work to preventative maintenance schedules and liaise with planners to ensure work is completed on time.
  • Diagnose faults and repair mechanical breakdowns to support continuous production.
  • Complete risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work requirements as needed.
  • Support and assist in the training of mechanical apprentices.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and associated documentation.
What we are looking for
  • A recognised Mechanical Trades Apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is essential, ideally within construction materials, heavy industry, engineering, or a similar maintenance setting.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and turning/milling.
  • A relevant trade qualification is essential.
  • Previous experience working shift patterns, including continental or other unsociable shift structures.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable
  • Strong organisational skills with a reliable and committed approach to work.
  • Additional trade-related training or certifications would be an advantage.
What is on offer
  • Opportunity to join a well-established and reputable manufacturing business.
  • Long-term career potential with progression opportunities.
  • Supportive team environment within a safety-focused workplace.
  • The chance to work in a hands-on, technically varied maintenance role.

This role is being managed by Clerkin Connect on behalf of our client. All applications and enquiries will be treated in the strictest confidence.
