How we handle personal data about candidates, clients and visitors to this website. Last updated 11 September 2026.
Oriel Recruitment is a Clerkin Group company, based at The Station House, North Road, Monaghan, H18 DP74, Ireland. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@orielrecruitment.ie or +353 (0)87 652 8927.
Candidates. When you apply for a vacancy or register with us we collect your name, contact details, CV, work history, qualifications, right-to-work information, references, and notes from our conversations with you. Where a role requires it we may also collect information needed for background checks, with your knowledge.
Clients. For the businesses we recruit for we hold the names, roles and contact details of the people we deal with, along with details of the roles we are engaged to fill.
Website visitors. This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security and performance. The map on our contact page is provided by Mapbox, which receives your IP address when the map tiles load.
We use candidate data to match you with roles, to put you forward to clients with your agreement, to keep in touch about opportunities, and to meet our legal obligations as a recruitment business. We use client data to deliver the services we have been engaged for and to manage the relationship.
Our legal bases under the GDPR are: performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering one; our legitimate interests in operating a recruitment business; compliance with legal obligations; and, where we ask for it, your consent.
We share candidate details with prospective employers only when you have agreed to be put forward for a role. We use JobAdder, a recruitment software platform, to manage vacancies and applications on our behalf, and trusted providers for hosting, email and document storage. Each acts under a contract that limits what they may do with your data. We do not sell personal data.
Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens we rely on an adequacy decision or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
We keep candidate records for as long as we are actively working with you and for up to two years after our last meaningful contact, so that we can consider you for future roles. Records relating to a placement are kept for the period required by employment, tax and company law. Client records are kept for the life of the relationship and for six years afterwards. You can ask us to delete your record sooner at any time.
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@orielrecruitment.ie.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, 6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, D02 X963, or at dataprotection.ie. We would appreciate the chance to resolve it with you first.
We keep personal data on access-controlled systems, limit it to the people who need it to do their job, and review those controls regularly. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach affects your data we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.
We will update this page when our practices change and will show the date of the latest revision at the top. Questions about this policy are welcome at hello@orielrecruitment.ie, or get in touch.
